about

I am a sculptor creating life-sized figures and mixed-media installations that evoke presence through their scale and meditative qualities. Working intuitively with elements such as ceramics, fiber, light and sound, each piece emerges as a revelation from my unconscious, embodying my belief in the necessity of personal transformation grounded in compassion and awareness.

Each sculpture crystallizes an internal journey—giving form to the intangible, inviting a quiet dialogue of searching, becoming, and remembrance. Through figurative gesture within abstract forms and open spaces in the medium, my work bridges the self with the other, the material with the immaterial. Light and sound are often integrated within the sculptures, adding depth and aliveness, inviting viewers to experience the work not only visually but through their other senses.

My sculptures explore the interior worlds within each individual—the unconscious, the spiritual, and the unseen—drawing from spiritual traditions, metaphysical thought, and
the body as a vessel of knowledge. The exteriors are glazed in earthy tones, grounding the work in nature, while vibrant interiors invite deeper reflection. My practice examines what we consider real, what shapes our decisions, and how we navigate the forces that influence our inner and outer lives.

Titles are integral to my work, often forming poetic verses that deepen the narrative of each piece. This process becomes a personal mythology, inviting viewers to connect with the shared human journey of rediscovering our true loving selves.

Patricia Zamarte (b. 1997, Monterrey, Mexico) is a sculptor creating life-sized figures and mixed-media installations that evoke presence through scale, stillness, and sensory depth. Working intuitively with ceramics, fiber, light, and sound, her pieces emerge as revelations from the unconscious—embodiments of personal evolution rooted in compassion and awareness.

Her sculptures blend figurative and abstract gestures, forming open, contemplative structures that explore the unseen: the spiritual, the intangible, and the forces shaping inner and outer life. Influenced by metaphysical thought, spiritual traditions and the body as a vessel of knowledge, Zamarte often integrates light and sound to invite a multi-sensory dialogue. Her poetic titling practice expands each piece into a personal mythology, inviting viewers into a shared journey of remembrance and becoming.

She is the author of An Internal Revolution, a sculptural poetic book weaving verse and form into an intimate narrative of transformation.

Zamarte holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited at Museo Soumaya (CDMX), Saint Kate Arts Hotel (Milwaukee), and Centro Cultural Plaza Fatima (SPGG, MX). Her work appears in Mujeres Mexicanas en el Arte and Women Artists on the Rise by Arts to Hearts Project. She has completed residencies in India and across Mexico, and currently runs ZAMARTE Studio, mentoring over 40 students through transformative ceramic practice.
